The future of
Medicine is in the hands of Ramya & doctors like her.
Dr Ramya Mohan
is one of the very few people I have come across in the field of Medicine, who
is doing such special work to connect Medicine and Music for the good of people
in general and young people in particular. The Bhavan UK is delighted to welcome
her and commends her on her pioneering work
Milapfest is
delighted and looking forward to welcoming Dr Ramya Mohan to the Sannidhi
Dialogue Series of lectures at Liverpool Hope University , the series invites
distinguished scholars to speak about different aspects of Arts in general and
Indian arts in particular, and speak about how it binds different strands of human
society and strengthens it.
Mohan is a
serious polymath, spending her time as
both a Senior Consulting Psychiatrist by day and professional musician and
artist by night. Mohan’s singular objective however is always to foster
healthier mental well being in us all.
This is a
really exciting event. I’ve never seen anybody combine psychology and
psychiatry with music. Her paintings are bright and bold. I was captivated when
I saw the bright colours. She’s a multi-talented woman.
Very rare to
see art and science go hand in hand so seamlessly. But Dr Mohan is a global
pioneer in utilising the power of music to aid an individual’s development. It
is evident she has found a unique synergy between art, music and science. Her
original way of exercising art as a means of raising awareness of mental health
issues among young people is admirable.
What one feels
inside, one projects outside and the recipient's responses reflect that -Music
taps into this particular theorem. it is impossible to be involved with any art
form, learning /tradition in India without this connectivity and a deep
awareness of this theorem. Art is one tradition, one stone, having many
facets- Dr. Ramya in her work demonstrates this aptly.
A child prodigy
in Art, Music, Writing and Academia.
Really honored to be here. Looking at the vibrant colors, they are truly representative of the personality that is Ramya.
If she has a
good heart and mind, a woman is the best creation on this planet, she can give
everything - regeneration, progression. It is so beautiful. Seeing everything
(Ramya's work) having so much beauty and positivity, her bright colours are
representative of women. She has portrayed women in so many roles so
beautifully.
Ramya is doing everything so beautifully- She is a musician, artist, Psychiatrist, academic, a full-time mother - Music in the background helps you study better, focus better. The living proof for me is Ramya. It is her music that made her so brilliant. Being an artist, a musician, scholar, professional Psychiatrist, and a full-time mother - it is her music that has done this to her.
The real art
for me is not that she is a great painter or singer, it is how she has kept everything
together, how she has brought her inner soul out through painting and singing
but also how she has really excelled in her career as a Consultant
(Psychiatrist) ,working with such challenging themes -with people and families'
minds. We are celebrating her success as an artist and she has allowed us a
peek into her deeper soul & essence -her real art is about synthesising all
aspects (Music, Art, Psychiatry, family, motherhood) and taking it forwards.
An incredible
amount of skills and interests in one person, quite remarkable; she has
achieved & is good in every aspect of it .
Apart from
being an accomplished Psychiatrist, she has so many talents. We are
surprised. Most of us struggle with science -Hats off to her, she can pull
science, singing-composing and wonderful artwork together at the same time. We
thought there would be nobody better than her for East-West collaborations.
Excellent work in spreading the importance of using music and creative art in emotional wellbeing.
Dr. Mohan is a global pioneer in integrating scientific knowledge of the human mind with music
and creative art.
The future of
Medicine is in the hands of Ramya & doctors like her.The idea is to have an
open mental wealth festival to celebrate the things we all can do to keep
mentally well and the arts play a huge part in that. Dr Mohan’s vision is truly
one which is unique and noble.
I don't think
anyone could argue with that, such a compelling argument there.
Being a fully
practicing doctor and serving on the National Health Service, she is doing so
much in music and art , it is truly commendable.
Kudos Dr Mohan
,exploring her career as a mental health Doctor, who uses her love for art
& music as a form of therapy. Her new album was launched today, while she's
on her UK tour raising awareness of the issues that South Asians face, that are
often swept under the carpet, especially adolescents.
Fascinating
A soothing
therapy for distressed emotions.
Dr Mohan is
passionate about bringing art and music together with the mind.
UK-based
Psychiatrist collaborates with city musicians to connect neuroscience and arts.
Mohan is a
serious polymath, spending her time as
both a Senior Consulting Psychiatrist by day and professional musician and
artist by night. Mohan’s singular objective however is always to foster
healthier mental well being in us all.
I hope some of
the research , efforts and work Dr Mohan is doing can add to existing knowledge
& evidence and help practitioners adopt practices that can be support
systems, provide therapeutic effects & bring balance to one's state of mind
. If you talk to Dr Mohan, you will be stuck by the enthusiasm and the deep
conviction that she has for the therapeutic use of art forms.
Arts bring
freedom & joy. Ramya is using this to bring happiness to more and more
people. These media are there for us & for the good of others. I wish our
Ramya all the success.
This
amazing vision will help to make way for a brighter and positive future within
the creative and medical fields.
Amazing.
Psychiatrist-Musician

Being

highly commendable.
Dr
Ramya Mohan is an accomplished artist who has steadily carved a niche for
herself in the British Asian Art scene after highly commended solo exhibitions
at the Nehru Centre and The MP Birla Art Gallery amongst others. She is known
for her vibrant use of colours and increasing global awareness of mental health
through her innovative art and music projects. Ramya is known for her sensitive
and bright portrayal of the intricate aspects of human minds and relationships
in her artwork. Her artwork has garnered widespread appreciation over the
years.
Her
paintings are bright and bold. I was captivated when I saw the bright colours.
What
wonderful work she has certainly exhibited there!
Inspirational
! Thank you for inspiring our readers and listeners.
Most
beautiful exhibition I have seen lately. Dr Ramya Mohan deserves a salute!!!
All the best.
Really
honoured to be here. Looking at the vibrant colours, they are truly
representative of the personality that is Ramya.
A
visual treat and delight to the eyes.
This
(Artistic process) is wonderfully adaptable, flexible, can be tailored to the
individual , how they develop it, at the rate they want to develop it - Gives
one more agency within their lives.
Truly
happy to share all that she has expressed in her paintings.Beyond all the
recognition and praise, if we can give solace to humans through our art , it is
the biggest responsibility, joy and achievement -enlightening even a single soul through art. Ramya has really
filled up this place (Gallery) with so much beauty.
Privileged
to be here - She is bold and courageous in her use of colours, whilst keeping a
very traditional aspect to her art form, almost an inner desire to keep art a
language across cultures. She is very linked to her roots but has manifested
her attributes through her art in a very western way . I'm sure these pictures
have spoken to you in a personal way but it (Her art) is also universal and
does not need words.
Art
can transcend intellectual disability, cultural ,gender differences -it is a
great levelling, linking medium- great to be here today and see this art.
The
exhibition is amazing, the detail and colours so uplifting. I am so pleased I
have been able to view your incredible paintings.
