TRAINING
Ramya started her vocal training in Carnatic vocal music at a very young age from her parents, both trained musicians. She has received formal training in Carnatic classical music under Vidwaan MA Narasimhachar and Vidushi MA Meera in Bangalore. She has received guidance from Carnatic classical maestros like Vidwan TV Gopalakrishnan and Dr M Balamuralikrishna. In the UK, she trained further in Carnatic vocal with Vidushi Sivasakthi Sivanesan and in Hindustani Classical vocal with Pandit Vishwa Prakash.
AWARDS & MERITS
Ramya has been a winner at state and national level music competitions and sung many times on All India Radio. She has represented India as a cultural ambassador on an International Youth Exchange Programme to Canada. She led the music troupe as a vocalist in the cultural exchange programme to British Columbia and has given several stage performances in Canada and on Canadian radio.
STAGE PERFORMANCES
Over the years, Ramya has performed at various prestigious venues in the UK and India including the High Commission of India (Cultural Wing) UK, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (London) , Milapfest (Liverpool) , Purandara Namana concerts (Reading and Basingstoke) , Kannada Balaga UK and ESA UK congregations (including the Ugadi meet at the BA Concorde Club, 2014), Rama Seva Mandali (Ramanavami celebrations) , Jaya Rama Seva Mandali (Bengaluru) and Bengaluru Ganesh Utsava , amongst many others.
Over the years Ramya has demonstrated proficiency in various genres of Indian music on stage, including Indian classical music (Carnatic and Hindustani styles), light music and devotional music
COMPOSING, SINGING & SONG-WRITING
Ramya has firmly believed in the healing and therapeutic power of music. She has attempted to incorporate this approach meaningfully into her medical practice to promote recovery from illness and aid personality development in children and young people. She has conceptualized, composed the vocal components and lent her voice for a novel internationally acclaimed music, neuroscience & therapy based, self-guided technique CAPE (Creative Arts for Processing Emotions). This is a collaboration with the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (UK), with UK and Indian artists, launched at the Nehru Centre, The High Commission of India (Cultural Wing), UK
Music and composing
A formally trained musician in Carnatic and Hindustani classical music, Ramya firmly believes in the healing and therapeutic power of music and incorporates this approach into her medical practice to promote recovery from illness and aid personality development in children and young people. Ramya has had live music performances in India and abroad on platforms like the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, alongside being a music composer /singer for video singles and ‘Music meets Medicine ‘ albums - CAPE® and CAPE:Youth®. Ramya's music and singing have been played and garnered acclaim on the BBC, BBC Arts and culture ,BBC Asian Network, NDTV(, Aaj Tak/ India Today, Zee Europe and other world media .
Lyrics and poetry
Ramya is also a popular lyricist/poet, having composed the lyrics for her three video singles that have been played on and applauded by the BBC, Aaj Tak etc. She was the invited artiste in residence at the London Poetry Festival , St.John’s Church, Waterloo, in 2019, where she shared her poetry with the audience.

RECENT MUSIC TOURS
In May 2017, as part of the UK-India year of culture, Ramya completed a five city UK tour with her live band from India RAMYA @ LIVEANALYSIS , showcasing a variety of genres ( Classical,fusion,folk and film music ) at prestigious venues across the UK , including the High Commission of India (Cultural wing), UK and the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, UK.
Ramya continues to demonstrate her versatility across genres in her performances and concerts. From classical to fusion to rock, pop and popular music, she collaborates and performs with eastern and western musicians to create new tunes and experimental creative work.
